San Francisco
If you plan to visit San Francisco you will not want to miss the chance to see
the Golden Gate Bridge, or the Alcatraz at Fisherman’s Wharf. You can see
one of the world’s most famous prisons’s and read the story of how
two inmates were able to escape in this exciting museum. San Francisco is also
host to the largest Chinese population outside China. It is truly a city designed
within a city.
Alcatraz
This famous prison was home to many convicts including Machine Gun Kelly, Al Capone,
and Robert Stroud. The prison has an exponential amount of tourists each year.
It was in operation for only 29 years and also has an audio tour. Alcatraz was
known as the most inescapable prisons in the world. This is truly an amazing piece
of San Francisco history.
Chinatown
The largest center of Chinese and Chinese culture outside of China is located
right here in San Francisco. Chinatown has vibrant people with excellent food
and great hospitality. There are many different restaurants to choose from. This
is a really exciting part of San Francisco that you don’t want to miss out
on.
Golden Gate Bridge
The Golden Gate Bridge spans two miles across the San Francisco bay area. You
will enjoy the scenic view of the ocean and the large metropolis in the distance.
There is a $5 fee to travel southbound, while northbound is absolutely free. We
really recommend that you walk or you’re your bike as it is a very nice
time to relax and enjoy the beauty and intricacies of this marvelous city.
Cable Car Rides
These excellent pieces of history roll on 8.8 (14 km) miles of track along their
original and preserved routes. They are motor less and run on underground cables.
It is truly a rewarding experience for all ages to enjoy. The average speed is
9.5 miles per hour (15 km).
