Coventry Airport, owned by Marshall Aerospace, was established in 1936. It used to be a fighter station during the Second World War and was included in the Luftwaffe Bombing in 1940. After the war, it commenced its status as a civil airport that serves passenger and cargo flights.

Coventry airport is located not one kilometre from the city of Coventry, in Baginton village, Warwickshire district in England. Its services include cargo and few passenger flights due to its shift in focus to chartered flights, and flying instruction.

It used to be Thomsonfly’s hub, but scheduled flights were cancelled late in 2008 due to non-fruitful attempts to construct a new terminal. It is with the same reason that Wizz Air discontinued its flights to Polish destinations. The airport has been repeatedly put up for sale.

Those going to Coventry for its magnificent cathedrals and industrial centre should take advantage of the pre-booking of car hire at Coventry Airport. The city is most accessible through the motorways, since going to Coventry by rail would entail waiting for hourly trips. Some bus routes do not even pass by the city centre.
