Graz Airport (GRZ) is not far from the pretty city of Graz. As the region increased in popularity a second terminal building had to be opened to accommodate the new arrivals.

Cheap car hire is available downstairs in the Arrivals hall at Graz Airport. Other facilities include two cafés the ‘Follow Me Café’ and the ‘Take-off Café ‘ both offering a choice of light meals and refreshments and also the Airest Graz Airport Restaurant serving more substantial meals. A bank, choice of bars, a duty-free shop, gift shop and newsagent can also be found within the terminal.

To and from Graz Airport, there are many scheduled flights from most major European cities. For the visitor from Britain, the budget airline Ryanair has flights to Graz from London Stansted Airport, and within mainland Europe the budget airline Interfly and Lufthansa both operate regular flights to the region.

Cheap car hire at Graz Airport makes it convenient and easy to tour around the region near Graz. All major car rental agencies including Avis, Hertz and Sixt car can be found in the terminal building in the Arrivals hall at Graz Airport. Here, there is also a travel company which can provide useful information, organise hotel accommodation and provides maps and guides to the region.

The area surrounding Graz makes for a great vacation. Graz is a beautiful city. It’s the second major city in Austria and also one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. There are several fine museums to visit and great fortresses and castles to explore. Take time to visit the spectacular Kesselfall Gorge, Dragon’s Cave and the Johannes Kepler Observatory.
