The Manchester-Oldham Road Railway Station was an old station that used to serve cargo for the industrial town of Oldham in the late 19th century. A passenger rail line has since been established to serve the locals, called the Oldham Werneth Railway Station. The station is located at Werneth, and is part of the Oldham Loop Line.

It is operated by the company Northern Rail. It serves the local areas of Westwood, Chadderton, and Werneth. Most of the passengers use car hire at Manchester-Oldham Road since there is little means of public transport to the town proper. Budget car rental is best booked online in advance.

Trips leave every half hour, and tickets are bought at ticketing offices online or at third-party ticketing companies. Customer service can be acquired through phone hotlines or mail. The Oldham Werneth Railway Station is unstaffed at all times, and has minimal facilities for passengers. It has two platforms, with only sheds for waiting areas.

It has a public telephone, some seating areas, and the trains are equipped with ramps to assist persons with disabilities. There are no parking services nor taxi stands at the station, so pre-booked cheap car hire at Manchester-Oldham Road Railway Station is the only recourse to getting to and from the station without the hassle of waiting for buses.
